Fluffy was adopted from Colorado Puppy Rescue, a non-kill, non-profit organization. Their website is: www.coloradopuppy.org. The organization collects puppies from Colorado, Wyoming, New Mexico, Arizona etc.

Puppy litters are picked up from private individuals, farms, Native American Reservations or are found neglected and luckily reported to the organization "Colorado Puppy Rescue".

Every 2nd Saturday, Colorado Puppy Rescue hosts a Puppy Adoption Event at PETCO, located off Mississippi Boulevard in Aurora, Colorado. The Colorado Puppy Rescue brings in about 35-50 adorable puppies, ranging from pure to mixed breeds.

People sign up their names and stand in line at PETCO. After a 10-15 minute interaction with the puppy of your choice, these healthy puppies leave PETCO "like hot cakes". One day Fluffy had strong hick-ups, and it seemed like she was bothered by acid reflux. She was gagging as she was trying to vomit. I quickly gave her some Active Manuka Honey 16+. The honey seemed to calm her condition quickly - she never vomited that day. We don't know what she got into, but something upset her stomach...

At the age of 4.5 months it was recommended that Fluffy be spayed. Having your puppy neutered or spayed is one of the adoption requirements, in order to keep the dog population down to a manageable amount. Again, the Colorado Puppy Rescue Organization is a no-kill, non-profit organization, and must place all puppies received - this is good news for the animals.
