Extreme weight-loss due to Microscopic Inflammation of the Colon

What are you suffering from?
My dad is 75 years old and has always been the picture of health until August of 2006. He was diagnosed with microscopic inflammation of the colon. He had severe and constant diarrhea. My dad's diarrhea started in August of 2006 and continued until October 3, 2007. He saw 5 different gastro doctors, the last one is reputed to be one of the best in Texas. He was hospitalized on three different occasions for dehydration. He was under different doctor's treatments this entire time. He had 3 different colonoscopies done.

What medication has your doctor prescribed?
You name it he was treated with it, the worst was opium.

Does the medication work?
Some of the medicines would work for a few days to a week, and then the diarrhea would return, sometimes as much as seven to ten times a day. In 14 months, he went from 190 pounds to 134 pounds on October 3rd, 2007. We tried gluten free diets, diarrhea diets, mild diets, fat-free diets, etc.

Did you experience any side effects from the medication?
At one point and time my dad was even treated with opium. He of course vomited and become dehydrated. He had no appetite, he was depressed and lethargic.

What made you decide to look for a natural remedy?
On Oct. 3rd, 2007 after my dad came home from his last trip to Houston to a renowned gastro doctor, we still had no solutions and he was at 134 pounds. My dad is over six feet tall and was literally skin and bones.   I have no pictures of him because he looked like a prisoner of war victim. My family knew that my dad was literally close to death.  Absolutely no energy level, depressed, and literally starving to death. A nurse friend of mine told me that they were using Manuka Honey for wound care at one of the local nursing homes and that she had read some of the literature on line. She suggested that we try it with my dad. I was frantic!!! I really thought that it would be like trying an old time snake oil treatment but being desperate, I bought a jar of your honey for my dad on that very day from the nursing home. He began taking it on the night of Oct. 3rd and by Oct. 5th had his first normal bowel movement.  He has had no diarrhea since.  I truly believe that you have a miracle cure.

Manuka Honey UMF17. At the start, he took a tsp. 3 times a day. Now, he takes it twice daily.

How many hours, days or weeks did it take, before feeling or seeing a difference and noticing a positive effect on your condition?
Within two days after suffering for 14 months with diarrhea, the diarrhea stopped.  By the way, the one thing that I haven't told you is about his weight gain. I had him weigh yesterday. He now weighs 170 pounds. His appetite is back in full force and he is regaining his energy level.  He has friends that are inquiring about the miracle honey and I am having to order it for them as well.
