Kourtney Kardashian, the older sister of Kim and Khloe Kardashian, is, like the rest of the Jenner-Kardashian clan, known for starring in various reality television shows as well as having several clothing and skin care lines and acting as the spokeswoman for Quick Trim, a dietary supplement. This very public family has become famous for many different things, but, fortunately, it’s not all alliterating names, Instagram, and reality tv drama. They, including Kourtney, 38, are known for the intense dieting regimens they adhere to to preserve their near perfect figures. As she recently showed via social media, Kourtney does adhere to a focused regimen, but one that’s healthier than most.
Kourtney’s ‘Difficult’ Diet
The mother of three revealed what a regular “detox” day results in when it comes to the meals on her plate, and even she admits that it’s, literally, slim pickings. Avoiding most carbohydrates (no beans, legumes, or grains) and fruits, Kourtney also avoids gluten on her “detox” days. Fortunately for her, this leaves a surprising amount of food for her to choose from—not just the barest of salads. Kourtney stated that fats and proteins make up most of her daily menu, beginning every day with creamy, rich avocado pudding that, by her account, is perfect as a pre-workout dish.
This pudding comprises of a half cup of milk, tablespoons of cane sugar and also Manuka honey, and, of course, one ripe avocado, mixed together to form the “pudding” of the dish. For both dinner and lunch, Kourtney focuses on vegetables and proteins, typically either chicken or fish with sides of broccoli or cauliflower. As many on fasting diets say, Kourtney waits around 14 hours after she’s eaten dinner to start on breakfast the next day. Also, she insists on no snacking except for the occasional almond here or there.
Speaking of fasting, Kourtney also has a weekly day specifically for fasting where she only drinks bone broth and water for a full 24 hours. In terms of handling these days, Kourtney stated, “On fasting days, I try to stay busy, and, if I’m home, I’ll avoid going into the kitchen.” Luckily, the businesswoman and mother does not maintain this hectic diet all the time, and she intends to remain on her current diet for only three months. As she puts it, “I’m not going to sugarcoat it—this detox is difficult. I also know that I need to enjoy my life, so I break the rules when I go on vacation or if there’s a special occasion.”
